St. Joseph's boys in final

ALUVA, SEPT. 15. St. Joseph's (Pulincunnu) defeated Don Bosco (Irinjalakuda) 56-32 and entered the boys' final in the first Carmel Trophy all-Kerala inter-school basketball tournament at the Carmel Stadium here on Wednesday evening.

In the girls section, S.N. Trust (Kollam) drubbed G.V. HS (Villadom) 63-43 and moved into the final.

The results: Boys: Semifinals: Boys: St. Joseph's 56 (R.G. Venkatesh 18, Rahul Krishna 14, Kevin V. John 9) bt Don Bosco 32 (Jovin P. Vincent 11, Jithu 10). Quarterfinals: Don Bosco 62 (Jithin Paul 29, Jovin P. Vincent 18) bt St. Ephreme HSS 53 (Nirmal K. Mathews 24, Tinsu Varghese 14); G.V.Raja Sports School 77 (Shejoy Johns 24, Robin James 21) bt Cherupushpa 75 (P.P.Bijeesh 31, Saji Mathews 18).

Girls: Semifinals: S.N. Trust 63 (V.G. Sinimol 19, Roshini Thomas 16, Jerry Jose 15) bt G.V HS, Villadom 43 (Lissa Rani 23, Sinu Punnose 10). Quarterfinals: Govt Brennen HSS 32 (Anu Mathew 10, Smitha Sasi 10) bt St. Joseph's HSS 16 (Sangeetha Rajan 11).
