Around the City

Rain likely

The sky will be generally cloudy on Thursday. There could be rain or thunder showers towards the evening. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 27.3 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 18.7 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. It recorded a rainfall of 0.2 mm. The relative humidity was 82 per cent. The Airport recorded a maximum temperature of 26.6 degrees Celsius and minimum of 18.8 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 82 per cent.

Power cut

There will be no power supply on September 16 from 11 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. in ITI Colony, R.M. Nagar, M.V. Nagar, Muniyappa Layout, Akshaya Nagar, Shanthi Layout, Anandapura, Zinkethimmanahalli, Margondanahalli, Munishwaranagar and surroundings. Power supply would be affected between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on September 16 and 17 in S.G.N. Layout, Lalbagh Main Road and surroundings, according to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company.

Water Adalat

Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board will hold a Water Adalat on September 17 at 9.30 a.m. at the office of the Assistant Executive Engineer, East-3 subdivision, Fraser Town. Disputes of consumers coming under the jurisdiction of the Machalibetta, Fraser Town, Pillanna Garden and H.R.B.R. service station limits, will be heard and settled there.

Campaign

The Lake Development Authority and Eco-Watch will launch a "save lakes campaign" on September 16 at 4.30 p.m. at the Jayanagar 4th Block Shopping Complex. Posters, pamphlets and eco-badges will be released as part the programme. For details call 5121 1580/2655 3422.

Course

The Indian Institute of Hams will conduct a short-term course from September 20 for the grant of `Ham (Amateur) Radio Operating License' from the Union Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.
