HYDERABAD, SEPT. 15. In a major recovery, the Cyberabad police got back stolen property worth Rs. 35 lakhs from four alleged offenders, including G. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, a life convict who escaped from jail.
Confession
Reddy and four of his associates -- K. Gayab Ali, Surakath Subhash, Shamshad and Mohd. Sadiq--were travelling in a car when a special police party intercepted them at Uppal ring road on Tuesday night. The police grew suspicious after finding gold ornaments in the car. During interrogation, the accused confessed to several property offences. Based on their confession, 2.5 kg gold ornaments, 11 kg silver articles, three cars, five motorcycles, electronic goods and Rs. 1.75 lakhs in cash were recovered, the Cyberabad Police Commissioner, M. Mahender Reddy, told a press conference here. The Commissioner appreciated the good work accomplished by Inspector, A. Shivaramakrishna and SIs, T.S.A. Prasad and S. Chakrapani.
