HYDERABAD, SEPT. 15. The efforts of 72-year-old Lilian Avette Basin to provide education for children from the poorest sections of the society finally seem to be bearing fruit. Following a report on the French lady's spirited battle to run the St. Paul's Little Friends for the Poor in Vijaypuri, South Lalaguda, in The Hindu on Wednesday, the district Collector has approved provision for a non-residential bridge course and a grant of Rs. 33,000 till March 2005. This is apart from a computer promised by the Jaycees for the school. According to additional project co-ordinator, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Madhusudan, officials visited the school on Wednesday and promised help to Ms. Bastin.
