HYDERABAD, SEPT. 16. The Governor, S.S. Barnala, on Wednesday expressed confidence that the rising inflation rate was a temporary phenomenon and that it would come down soon. Mr. Barnala said that among the economies of the world, the Asian economy was growing at a faster rate and among the Asian nations, India and China easily outshone others. As the developed nations got over their economic slowdown, economic activity and growth was bound to rise, he said.
Industry awards
At a function organised by the Andhra Pradesh State Board, All India Manufacturers' Organisation (AIMO), he gave away the Bharat Ratna Dr. M. Visvesvaraya Industrial Awards -- 2004. The Outstanding Industrial Achievement Award was given to B.V.R. Mohan Reddy, CMD, Infotech Enterprises. The AIMO's chairman (AP), G. Jayaraman, welcomed the gathering, and the honorary secretary, S. Suseela, proposed a vote of thanks. The awardees include U-Foam (Best Performance in Small Scale Industry), Matrix Laboratories (Best Export Performance), Jaisara Tooling Systems (Best R & D Effort), Bharat Biotech International (Best Technology Effort), P. Sudha Reddy, MD, K.N. Biosciences, (Best Woman Entrepreneur) Bommadevara Gandhi, Bhagayanagar Laboratories (Best Industrial Worker).
