CHITRADURGA, SEPT.16 . The autorickshaw strike in Chitradurga town was withdrawn after the Deputy Commissioner promised to resolve the problems of the autorickshaw owners and drivers here on Thursday. The protest march by autorickshaw owners and drivers on Tuesday had led to a lathicharge and the arrest of some of the office-bearers of Autorickshaw Owners' and Drivers' Association, Chitradurga. The two-day strike had caused a lot of inconvenience to the public, especially schoolchildren and the aged. V. Thippeswamy, president of the association, said today that a meeting would be held on September 21 with the Deputy Commissioner, to discuss the various problems that autorickshaw drivers in Chitradurga faced.
