Big win for Young Turks

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 16. Young Turks routed Tarband XI 7-0 in the Rajiv Gandhi memorial invitation hockey tournament at the Begumpet Police Stadium here on Thursday.

Striker Ghouse Khan struck in the 16th and 25th minutes while winger Santosh Kumar chipped in with two more in the 19th and 37th minutes to give Young Turks a handsome lead in the first-half. Nikhil struck twice and Santosh once to complete the tally for the winner after the break.

In another match, Secunderabad Sporting Club defeated Cross Wings 5-0 with M.A. Habeeb finding the target in the 22nd, 36th and 41st minutes. Half-back L. Kiran and Kalyan scored once each.
