About 500 workers led by G. Anjaneyulu and Leelavathi, organised at dharna in front of the office of the Mandal Revenue Officer at Vinukonda, bringing the traffic to a halt for about an hour on the main road. The main demands were release of water to the Zone-II areas, completion of Dommerlagondi Reservoir Project as promised by the Congress before elections and declaring Vinukonda and Bollapalli drought-affected mandals. The TDP on Wednesday organised a dharna at Narsaraopet seeking action against the misuse of drinking water by some farmers. The former Minister for Health, Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, led the dharna. Some persons had cut the water supply pipeline and were tapping it for irrigating their lands.
