MADURAI, SEPT. 16. The Deputy Director General of National Cadet Corps (Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar), Commodore P. P. Singh visited the NCC Group Headquarters here on Tuesday. The DDG, who is on a four-day visit, will be inspecting the NCC units at Tirunelveli and Nagercoil also. Col. Rajan Kulkarni, Group Commander, received the DDG at the headquarters and Madurai NCC cadets presented him with a guard of honour. The active participation of more than 7000 cadets in the Madurai Group in blood donation, planting of saplings and attending camps were brought to the knowledge of the DDG. Commending the work of the Madurai Group, Commodore Singh advised the officers to train the cadets in acquiring skills necessary for joining the armed forces.
