SIRSI, SEPT. 17. Folk arts are media that reflect the core of our culture. They have grown with out age-old tradition. But they are losing popularity because of the influence of modern culture. It is our duty to protect and preserve them, the MLA, Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri, has said. He was presiding over Budakattu Utsav at Manchikeri Samaj Mandir on Thursday. The Utsav was held under the auspices of Kannada and Culture Directorate, Bangalore and the Southern Region Cultural Centre, Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu.
