MYSORE, SEPT. 19. The 85th convocation of the University of Mysore is likely to be held during November/ December 2004. The exact date will be announced shortly. According to a press release issued by the Registrar of university, only post-graduate and doctoral students, along with the medal and award winners, would be allowed to attend the convocation in person.
Eligibility
Students who have passed in the September/ October 2003 and April/June, 2004 examinations are eligible to participate in the convocation. Those who will pass in September/October 2004 examinations will not be eligible to participate. An exception to this would be the students of engineering. For students of medicine, those who have completed internship after passing in July 2003 are eligible to participate in the convocation. While the rank and award winners in the courses such as B.Ed., L.L.B., B.P.Ed. and other courses would be allowed to participate, other students would not be allowed to take part in the convocation. The university has urged the students to submit the stipulated application forms duly completed and signed by the head of the institutions to the Mysore University either in person or through post. The release said that students, who would be applying for the degree certificates in absentia would receive their certificates after the completion of convocation through post. The last date for submission of relevant documents with the application forms to the university without penal fee is November 4, 2004, and with a penal fee of Rs. 100 is November 16, 2004. The applications should reach the Registrar (Evaluation), University of Mysore, 570 005 either by post or in person.
