BELLARY, SEPT. 19. One of the buildings in the cultural complex in the city built in seven acres would be let out to the Karnataka Power Corporation Limited (KPCL) for an annual rent of Rs. 1.20 lakhs. M.P. Prakash, district in-charge and Minister for Revenue, moved a proposal in this regard at the meeting held here on Friday to review the progress of the implementation of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan in the district. He said that the cultural complex had remained idle ever since it was inaugurated about six years ago. He said that ltting one of the buildings on rent would generate revenue for the maintenance of other buildings and for cultural activities. The KPCL would be asked to develop and maintain the garden in the complex, he added. The legislators, Bhagirathi Marulasiddanagowda, N. Suryanarayan Reddy, K.S.L. Swamy, B. Sriramulu, and Somalingappa; and the president of the zilla panchayat, G. Umesh, gave their approval. Mr. Prakash said that he would write to the MP and other legislators to get their approval in this regard.
