ERODE, SEPT. 19. In connection with Vinayaka Chathurthi, more than 300 Vinayagar idols made of clay and paper pulp were kept at important road junctions, extensions and in rural areas of the district. On Saturday evening, the idols were taken in procession in Gobichettipalayam by the public and Hindu Munnani volunteers and immersed in the Bhavani canal. Today 45 Vinayagar idols were taken in procession at Anthiyur and immersed in the canal there. Heavy police pickets were posted
