Last date for housing loan payment extended

TIRUCHI, SEPT. 19 . The last date for remittance of housing loans, which had become overdue as on October 1, 2003 for the waiver of penal interest and service charges, has been extended from April 30 to October 31.

In a release issued here today, the Deputy Registrar of Cooperatives (Housing), Tiruchi, N.Kaliyamurthy, said the State Government had announced the special concession extending the deadline for remittance of the overdue, in the wake of the prevailing drought conditions.

As per the scheme, those, whose housing loans had become overdue as on October 1, 2003, were eligible for the waiver. They should remit the principal and the interest to the cooperative housing society concerned in Tiruchi, Karur, Perambalur and Pudukottai districts on or before October 31, the release added.
