TIRUCHI, SEPT. 19 . The police have announced the following traffic diversions from 4 p.m. on Monday in the city in connection with the Vinayaka Chathurthi processions being taken out in different parts: The buses and other heavy vehicles reaching Tiruchi from Chennai, Salem, Thuraiyur, Ariyalur and Perambalur routes should take the diverted route at Kollidam old check post and proceed through new check post, bypass road, TVS toll gate, head post office, central bus stand. From here they should pass through Puthur four roads junction, Thillai Nagar, Salai road, and Karur new bypass road to reach the Chathiram bus stand. These vehicles should take the same route for return journey. The city buses coming from Lalgudi, Samayapuram, Mannachanallur and Vathalai would be terminated at Mampazha Salai. They should continue their return journey from here. All heavy vehicles coming to the city should take the bypass road, Oyamari road, Devadanam and East Boulevard Road. They would not be allowed via Railway gate and Odathurai. All heavy vehicles proceeding to Karur from Chennai and Thanjavur routes should pass via bypass road, TVS toll gate, head post office, Bharathidasan road, Puthur four roads junction, Thillai nagar, Karur new bypass road. The heavy vehicles proceeding to Thanjavur, Pudukottai, Madurai, Dindigul should pass via bypass road. The city buses proceeding to Chathiram bus stand from Thiruverumbur should take a diversion at the Ariyamangalam roundtana and pass via bypass road, TVS toll gate, head postoffice, Puthur four roads junction, Tennur fly-over. They should return via the same route. All the vehicles proceeding to Central bus stand from Karur road should take the Karur new bypass road, Sastri road, Anna Nagar, Uzhavar Santhai and MGR statue junction. No vehicle would be allowed to pass via the old Cauvery bridge and the Palakkarai area till the processions came to an end. The town buses proceeding via Woraiyur would ply in their usual route, the release issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, crime and traffic, said.
