At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31.5 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26.6 degree Celsius respectively on Sunday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 78 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 72 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 35.8 deg. C and 27.2 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 74 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 72 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 31.1 degree Celsius and 24.9 degree Celsius. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 83 per cent.

The first year degree and the third year B.A., B.Com., and B.Sc., degree contact-cum-counselling classes of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University for the academic year 2004-05 will commence from September 26 at Dr. V.S. Krishna Government Degree College, according to the Regional Co-ordinator, P.V. Ramana Reddy. All the first year students will be given study material on the first day.

AIR staff protest

The programme staff of All India Radio and Doordarshan have decided to stop production and production-related work from September 20 following a decision taken by the Central Executive Committee, according to P.V. Ramgopal, secretary of the Programme Staff Association.

The main demand relates to filling of junior time-scale(production) posts by promoting programme executives.

Dental camp

The Veluvolu Trust and M.P.M. Trust today organised a free dental camp for staff of newspapers at Gitam Dental College. Chairman of the Gitam Dental College, M.V.V.S. Murthy, who inaugurated the camp, said dental treatment were being provided at a nominal fee by the hospital.

The Veluvolu Trust managing trustee, Basavapunnaiah, and the college Dean, M. Rama Swamy, also participated.
