The Gannavaram Airport recorded a maximum temperature of 35.4 degree celsius and a minimum of 24.2 degree celsius on Sunday. Humidity rose from 86 per cent in the morning to 98 per cent in the evening. The airport also recorded a rainfall of 68.0 mm.

Lucky draw

The Vijayawada unit of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited, which distributed coupons in all its petrol bunks across Krishna district as part of the monsoon festival organised from July 10 to August 9, plans to host a draw of the lucky winners.

The IOC's Vijayawada unit senior divisional retail sales manager said the draw would be held at the IOC's pilot service station, on Bandar Road, at 7.30 pm on Monday. The corporation plans to give away 10 consolation prizes in addition to a bumper prize. The winner of the first prize would get a motorcycle, while there are two second prizes of colour television sets and three third prizes of refrigerators in addition to 10 consolation prizes of pressure cookers.

Data mining

course

A four-day instructional course in `data-mining' for teachers of computer science in graduate, post-graduate and engineering colleges, commenced here at the Siddhartha Academy on Sunday. The course is being hosted by the Department of Computer Science, P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts and Science under the aegis of the Indian Association for Research in Computing Science (IARCS). The course is being attended by nearly 40 participants from different universities and the industry.
