GUNTUR, SEPT. 19. A senior IPS officer of 1992 batch, Jitender, has been appointed the Guntur district Superintendent of Police in place of Ravi Shankar Ayyannar, who has been selected for U.N. assignment in Kosovo. Currently working as the Deputy Commissioner of Police Armed Reserve (Hyderabad), Mr. Jitender, hailing from Punjab, served as Mahabubnagar SP in 1999 and later sent on four-year deputation to Central Bureau of Investigation in New Delhi.
