Rain dampens festive spirit

By Our Staff Reporter

GUNTUR, SEPT. 19. Several low-lying areas were inundated and power was disrupted in many colonies following heavy rain on Sunday.

Though the city had been experiencing rain, accompanied with heavy winds since the past three days, power failure in many parts of the city compounded the problems of the people.

Most of the towns in the Guntur district experienced rain on Saturday and Sunday, dampening the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Water entered some of the pandals set up in low lying areas.
