By Our Staff Reporter
GUNTUR, SEPT. 19. Representatives of several apartment complexes and colonies met here on Sunday seeking a uniform cable TV subscription tariff in Guntur city and peg it at Rs. 100 per month. A membership drive was launched for the Cable TV Users' Association and a ad-hoc committee formed at a meeting chaired by the Lok Satta secretary, Konda Sivarami Reddy. The service provider would be asked to charge Rs. 100 per month for the same number of channels being telecast now inclusive of the pay channels. The meeting also decided to pay the amount to the service provider through the secretaries of the respective apartments. Cable TV operators were charging between Rs. 100 and Rs. 180 in several areas and threatened to increase it further.
