THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 19. The Congress leader and KPCC member, Vazhottukonam Ravi, passed away in Ernakulam today following a brief illness. He was 53. Mr. Ravi had served as the Corporation councillor and Opposition leader in the council. He was the former director of the District Cooperative Bank and the district secretary of the INTUC. He was also the chairman of the UDF North mandalam committee. Mr. Ravi had been under treatment at a private hospital at Ernakulam. The body was brought to Thiruvananthapuram and kept at the DCC office. The Ports Minister, M.V.Raghavan, the Transport Minister, N. Sakthan, the KPCC president, Thennala Balakrishnan, M.A. Wahid, MLA, and the Mayor, J. Chandra, paid homage. The cremation took place at Vattiyoorkavu.
