Programme on environment management

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI, SEPT. 19. To provide knowledge and to impart training in environmental management to executives in the corporate sector and officials in the Government, the Chicago-based Illinois Institute of Technology has brought its world famous environmental management programme to the country.

The programme in India is being offered through the Foundation for Research and Training on Environmental Management, a non-government organisation aiming to increase environmental protection sustainability while enhancing industrial productivity and competitiveness.

The one-year postgraduate diploma course in environmental management endeavours to give students the skills they need to plan, manage and communicate waste reduction and control strategies.

The curriculum emphasises options for pollution prevention and waste minimisation that improve economic efficiency, global competitiveness and corporate financial management while meeting broad social goals.

The last date for applying to the course is October 11.
