By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 19. A scribe was allegedly abused and attacked by a group of constables manning the entry gates on the premises of the city Police Commissionerate office building at Basheerbagh on Sunday evening.

Bachan Jeet Singh of an English daily saw a group of constables surrounding another reporter Sudhakar Reddy and sought to know what was happening. One of the constables allegedly abused and asked him to leave the place.

When he asked them to mind their language, two constables hit him twice on his face.

Both Singh and Reddy lodged a complaint with the Narayanaguda police who registered a case under Sections 323 (assault) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.

Later, during an identification parade of the policemen on duty at the entry gates that evening, the scribes had identified two persons who abused them.

The policemen accused of assaulting the scribe was not found among those paraded for identification, the Narayanaguda Inspector, Chandrashekhar Reddy, said.
