NEDUMBASSERY, SEPT. 20. The Parliamentary Committee for Transportation, Tourism and Culture headed by the CPI(M) leader, Nilotpal Basu, today arrived in the State to hold discussions with various department officials. The 10-member committee, including seven parliamentarians and three officials, arrived at the Cochin International Airport from Chennai. Besides the chairman, Mr. Basu, the committee consists of the Parliament members, Ambika Soni, Rama Muni Reddy, S. S. Chandran, N. S. V. Chithan, Alok Kumar Mehta and Sudan Marandi.
Discussions
The committee held discussions with Shipyard officials today. They will meet Port Trust officials at 9 a.m. tomorrow. The team will leave for Thiruvananthapuram in the afternoon tomorrow, where they will meet transportation and tourism officials.
