THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 20 . The Union Minister for Railways and president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Lalu Prasad, would arrive in the capital tomorrow by a special train from Kanyakumari en route to Delhi. The special train carrying Mr. Lalu Prasad, his wife and Chief Minister of Bihar, Rabri Devi, their children and top Railway officials will reach the Central station at 9-40 a.m.
Meeting with Chandy
Railway sources said the Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, would board the special train at Parassala railway station to hold discussions with Mr. Lalu Prasad on the development of railway network in the State. The State's demand for an exclusive railway zone, the move to bifurcate Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad railway divisions, hurdles being faced in the construction of a satellite terminal at Veli, railway electrification, doubling and development of railway network will figure in the meeting with Mr. Chandy. Mr. Prasad and his family members would proceed from the Central station to the Padmanabha Swamy temple and later visit the beach resort of Kovalam. Mr. Prasad and family will stay at the Government Guest House at Kovalam during their short visit.
