ANANTAPUR, SEPT. 20. The Commission on Farmers' Welfare set up by the State Government will visit the district on Tuesday to study the situation of the farming community and the crop condition. The 14-member commission is headed by Jayati Ghosh of New Delhi. The commission is likely to interact with people, particularly the farmers, at Kurugunta, Vaddupalli and Atmakur villages. According to the district Collector, Y.V. Anuradha, a team of scientists who had visited the district last week had confirmed bud and stem necrosis pest attacks on groundnut crop.
