JAIPUR, SEPT. 21. Three noted litterateurs of Rajasthan -- Ramprasad Dadhich, Rameshwar Dayal Shrimali and Savitri Ranka -- were honoured for their distinguished contribution to Hindi literature at a function here on Monday. A commentary on Atharva Veda, authored by late Mahavir Prasad Joshi, was also released on the occasion. The Vice-Chairman of the Economic Policy and Reforms Council and former Deputy Chief Minister, Harishankar Bhabhra, speaking on the occasion, said literature ought to have a continuity to provide contentment to the soul and mind. "Spiritualism and literature are closely connected with each other. Both fulfil the intellectual needs of human beings,'' he said. The noted expert on Vedas, Dayanand Bhargava, delivered a talk on "Structure of universe and Veda Chatushtami'' on the occasion. He affirmed that the principal areas of a litterateur's concern should be the universe as defined by Vedas, society described by Smirti Purana, and the individual persona specified by philosophy. "The evolution of social structure should be guided by the system governing the universe,'' he said. Among others, the former Chairman of Rajasthan Sanskrit Akademi, Kalanath Shastri, and the noted public relations activist, Manohar Prabhakar, were present in the function.
