`Keep an open mind'

NEW DELHI SEPT.21. The one thing an MBA education teaches is to "keep an open mind", said Sunil Kant Munjal, president of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in his convocation address to the seventh batch of graduating students of the MBA Department of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan here over the week-end.

The ceremony was presided over by Justice R.S. Pathak, Chairman of Bhavan's Delhi Kendra, who said "we in India must shed the tendency of self-flagellation. We can do anything and everything if we set our minds to it".

Dr. Shyam Vyas, Coordinating Head of the MBA Department, wished the Class of 2001-2004 "the very best in life".

Medical trip for students

NEW DELHI SEPT. 21. The students of Bal Bharati Public School on Ganga Ram Hospital Marg visited Apollo Hospital to get a first hand experience on the working of the hospital. Neurologist and senior consultant P.N. Renjen told them about the various avenues available to medical students. This was followed by a talk on the history of medical science by paediatric oncologist A. Mahajan.

A workshop on "Healthy Eating Habits and Nutrition'' was also organised by the School for its students of Class XI and XII this past week. Kavita Reddy of the American Soybeans Association (ASA) gave the students valuable tips on healthy eating habits.

M.O.H. Farook felicitated

NEW DELHI SEPT. 21. The National Minorities Conference, Delhi, organised a function in the Capital on Monday to felicitate the former Union Minister, M.O.H. Farook, on his appointment as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. The DSIDC Chairman and NMC Chief Patron, Hasan Ahmad, the Delhi Power Minister, Haroon Yusuf, senior Congress leaders, R.K. Dhawan and Salman Khurshid were also present at the function.
