NEW DELHI, SEPT. 21. The Union Human Resource Development Ministry today revamped the governing board of the Auroville Foundation making the former Union Minister, Karan Singh, chairman, in place of Kireet Joshi and replacing four members. Dr. Singh has been made chairman of the board for a period of four years, cutting Mr. Joshi's tenure by three years. Besides, the Ministry has dropped four members — the former Secretary-General of the Lok Sabha, Subhash C. Kashyap, the Rajya Sabha member, L.M. Singhvi, Meera Srivastava and Jyothi Madhok. While the chairman of the Centre of Studies of Civilisations, D.P. Chattopadhyay, and the chief architect of Auroville, Roger Anger, have survived the revamping exercise, the new members on the board are the Joint Editor of The Hindu , Malini Parthasarathy, the director of the Darpana Academy of Performing Arts, Mallika Sarabhai, Ajoy Bagchi and Aster Mira Patel.
