KARIMNAGAR, SEPT. 21. Lower Manair Dam Land Oustees' Villages Unemployed Association members and local bodies representatives launched a relay hunger strike in front of the SRSP Chief Engineer's office in LMD Colony on Tuesday demanding filling of vacant posts. The District Sarpanches Association president, U. Anjani Kumar, its vice-president, G. Ranga Rao, the Thimmapur MPP, K. Rajender Reddy, the Nustullapur sarpanch, Venkatswamy, the unemployed association president, M. Ramesh, and others took part. They demanded that the Government implement GO No.98 for rehabilitating the displaced unemployed youths. Calling for stern action against the CE, they threatened to launch fast-unto-death if the Government failed to solve the issue.
