No power

COIMBATORE, SEPT. 21 . There will be no power supply in the following places on September 23 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. owing to shutdown of Tirupur sub-station for maintenance work:

Symposium

A national-symposium on `wheat improvement for tropical areas' will be held at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University for three days from September 23.

It will be inaugurated by the Minister for Agriculture, K. Pandurangan.

The symposium is organised in commemoration of the Golden Jubilee Year of the Regional Station of Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Wellington.

Scientists from various parts of the country would participate in the programme.

Protest

The Kongu Illaignar Peravai will organise a fast on September 22 at Annur demanding immediate implementation of the Avinashi Athikadavu Scheme.
