CHENNAI, SEPT. 21. A special programme on palliative care a specialised medical area dealing with pain relief, care and counselling of patients with progressive and terminal diseases such as cancer has been organised for doctors, nurses and others on Thursday at Kilpauk Medical College by the Chennai Association of Palliative Care (CAPC). Options available to doctors to give patients freedom from pain through injections and medication will be spelt out at the event, to be held from 9.30 a.m. in collaboration with the department of anaesthesiology at the KMC, said a CAPC release. The topics to be covered at the programme are management of pain, surgical pain, oral morphine, concepts in palliative and total care. There is no registration fee.
