TTK Prestige's retail plans

By Our Staff Correspondent

MUMBAI, SEPT. 22. TTK Prestige, as part of an aggressive retail initiative, will set up 100 `Smart Kitchen' outlets all over India by the year 2006. The company is now venturing into modular Italian kitchens targeted at the budget end.

The company boasts 29 outlets at present and will commence operations from three outlets in Mumbai; taking the total to 32 outlets. Already with a strong presence in the southern markets, the company will open outlets in Pune, Nagpur, Baroda and Ahmedabad in the west.

Speaking to The Hindu on the sidelines of a press briefing to announce the initiative, T. T. Jagannathan, Chairman, TTK group of companies, said the company was expecting TTK Prestige to touch a turnover of Rs. 180 crores this year (March 2004 Rs. 145 crores) out of a Rs. 300 crore market for pressure cookers. "Our bottom-line had taken a hit in the last three years, but that has all changed now and we will soon return to the dividend list," said Mr. Jagannathan.
