HYDERABAD, SEPT. 22. A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Justice J. Chalameswar and Justice G. Raghuram on Wednesday suspended the operation of the orders of the Government reverting 12 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP) to the post of Circle Inspector (CI). The Bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by the affected DSPs. The Government passed orders on September 5 reverting these 12 persons to lower posts. This was challenged by these police officers before the A.P. Administrative Tribunal (APAT). When no favourable orders were passed, they approached the High Court by way of writ petition. Justice G. Raghuram speaking for the Bench took note of the fact that promotions in July 2003 were effected after the screening committee had recommended their cases. The Bench did not appreciate the way in which the present reversions were effected. While suspending the GO the bench directed that the position as on September 5, i.e. prior to the impugned GO given effect to is to be maintained. Names of the reverted officers are as follows: R. Naganna Goud, J.S. Rama Rao, G. Narayanaswamy, Swamy Narayana Pawar, P. Venkatrami Reddy, K.R. Vinoy Kumar, K.S.N. Murthy, S. Sreeramulu, Md. Shareef, A. Krishna Kumar, K. Krishna Prasad and I. Trinatha Rao.
