Engineering counselling postponed

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 22. Counselling for admission to engineering colleges scheduled to commence on September 23 has been postponed in the wake of the AP High Court's judgment striking down the 5 per cent reservation for Muslims.

The revised schedule will be issued shortly, the Convenor, EAMCET - 2004, G. Anantha Ramu, announced here on Wednesday. He advised candidates invited for counselling from September 23 not to attend.

The 5 per cent seats set apart for Muslims earlier will now be offered under open competition as per the revised schedule to be issued in a day or two. As many as 3,422 engineering seats, including 102 in Government colleges, were earmarked for Muslims.
