KPCC election schedule

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 22. The KPCC today announced the schedule for its organisational elections, which would be synchronised with the AICC's programme.

Announcing the election schedule here at a press conference, the KPCC president,

Thennala Balakrishna Pillai, said that election for the KPCC president's post would be held on April 30, 2005. The election to members to the executive and AICC would also be held on the same day. The membership drive would close on November 17. The election of president, executive members of the primary committees, election of block members and block committee would be held between January 13 and 31, 2005. The DCC election would be held between March 7 and 14, 2005. The election process would begin after the preliminary process of hearing complaints at various levels including the Central Election Authority of the party.

The decision to this effect was taken at the KPCC executive meeting today. Organisational elections have not been held in the Congress in Kerala for more than 14 years.
