VISAKHAPATNAM, SEPT. 22. The Dehradun-based Reed Redhill Herbal Company has launched the marketing of Arborium Plus -- a syrup made of Seabuckthorn fruit juice and Rhododendron flower juice to dissolve accumulated cholesterol in blood vessels and maintain blood cholesterol within normal limits -- in the city. Stating that trials for four years and sale in New Delhi and other areas for the past one year had yielded good results, the company's medical director, K.V.G.S. Murthy, told reporters on Wednesday that one had to consume 10 ml. of the syrup a day for two months and five ml. a day for another two months to get ''100 per cent relief'' for one year. He said that both the herbs were grown at high altitudes of 2,000 to 4,000 metres on the Himalayas. The medicinal value of the herbs found a mention in the ancient scriptures of China, Tibet, Mongolia, Russia and a few other countries. Claiming that the syrup would have no side-affects, Dr. Murthy said that it would give tremendous relief to diabetics with history of heart attacks, by helping them to reduce diabetic medicinal dosage.
