Rain forecast

One or two spells of rain or thundershowers have been forecast for Thursday. At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 31.4 degree C and the minimum was 25.4 degree C respectively on Wednesday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 74 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 78 per cent. Rainfall up to 8.30 p.m. was 0.2 mm.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 34.2 degree C and 25.8 degree C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 71 per cent and at 8.30 p.m. 73 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 30.9 degree C and 23.5 degree C respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 per cent.

Yoga training

Contests for children

RTC warning

Enforcement squads of APSRTC have caught red-handed some persons travelling with passes meant for students. ``They have been handed over to the police,'' the Regional Manager, D. Satyanarayana, said in a statement and warned against indulging in such practices.

Metallurgy quiz

The local chapter of the Indian Institute of Metals will organise selections at the Training and Development Centre in Visakhapatnam Steel Plant on Saturday for sending a team of three members to participate in the Prof. Brahm Prakash Memorial Material Quiz to be conducted by the Kalpakkam (Chennai) chapter of IIM. Interested educational institutions can register the names of their representatives with the Vizag chapter secretary, Lalan Kumar (Tel: 3267812).

Homage to Narayana Guru

Sree Narayana Guru Darshna Vedi on Tuesday observed the 77th Samadhi Day of Sri Naryana Guru, who propagated the need for a casteless society by proclaiming `One Caste, One Religion and One God'. The Vedi secretary, K.S. Damanan, spoke.
