NEW DELHI, SEPT. 22. Two young men who allegedly gave a lift to an employee of a furniture shop on the Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road and criminally assaulted her in the Ghitorni forest area in South-West Delhi on Monday night have been arrested by the South-West Delhi police. The accused, Rajender Singh and Sanjay, are residents of Ghitorni and own a furniture shop near the one where the victim works as an assistant manager. She alleged that the duo offered her a lift to her house but took her to the forest area and criminally assaulted her in their vehicle around 9 p.m. on Monday. They then dropped her at Vasant Vihar around 1 a.m. The victim, who is from Manipur, somehow went to her house and called her brother, who is a Delhi University student. He took her to the Vasant Kunj police station in the wee hours of Tuesday and got a case registered. Acting on the complaint, the police have arrested the accused.
