By Our Staff Reporter

CUDDAPAH, SEPT. 24. Cellular, land phone and WLL phone communication in Badvel, Gopavaram, Kalasapadu, B. Kodur, Atlur, Kasinayana and Brahmamgari Matham mandals was badly affected due to the gutting of the cellular, WLL and land phone systems in Badvel telephone exchange when lightning struck it last evening.

The main power plant in the exchange was filled with smoke and a sophisticated tower erected two months ago, was damaged when lightning struck during a heavy downpour, causing an estimated loss of about Rs. 10 lakhs, according to officials.
