BANGALORE, SEPT. 24. The former Bellary MP, Kollur Basavanagoud, has criticised the former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti, for "using the Tricolour to further her political ends".
Congress flag
In a statement issued here, he said she should know that what was today the National Flag was originally the Congress flag. Mr. Basavanagoud said that it was adopted as the National Flag by the Constituent Assembly by including the "Dharma Chakra" in it. But Ms. Bharti did not know it and realised the importance of the Tricolour only now.
Charge
Mr. Basavanagoud alleged that Ms. Bharti was responsible for the death and destruction in Ayodhya and Hubli. Ms. Bharti could not talk ill of the Congress President, Sonia Gandhi, and the Chief Minister, N. Dharam Singh, he said.
