Theft: special squad formed

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, SEPT. 24. A special police squad has been deployed to investigate the thefts from temples in North Malabar. The Chief Minister, Oommen Chandy, gave the directives to the Director General of Police after the Minister for Tourism and Devaswom, K.C. Venugopal, brought the issue to Mr. Chandy's notice.

An official release issued by the Minister's office said that several thefts had taken place in temples near Thalassery.
