NIZAMABAD, SEPT. 24. The Nizamabad town Congress president and party floor leader in the Municipal Council, G. Gangadhar, has been appointed District Congress Committee president, following the resignation of the incumbent president and Jukkal MLA, S. Gangaram. According to sources in the DCC, the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, D. Srinivas, appointed Mr. Gangadhar as the new DCC president on the approval of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) president, Sonia Gandhi. Mr. Gangaram reportedly requested Ms. Sonia Gandhi to relieve him from the party responsibility as he was elected to the Legislative Assembly in May elections. Mr. Gangadhar had earlier held the posts of district NSUI president, Andhra Pradesh Youth Congress general secretary and the town Congress president.
