The City Police has approached South Central Railway (SCR) on running special trains on the day of the Ganesh immersion procession to facilitate the return journey of people from the Hussain Sagar lake. The Additional Commissioner of Police, A. K. Khan, said the police had written to SCR for train service on the night of September 27 at six stations touching the procession route and including Lakdi-ka-Pul, Nampally, Sanjeevaiah Park and James Street. "This service at night will help people return home after the idol immersion," he said. Mr. Khan also joined Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) in cautioning people about pickpockets and chain snatchers during the procession and appealed to them not to carry more money than needed.
