Varavara Rao misleading public, says police

HYDERABAD, SEPT. 25. The police have termed "utter falsehood", the reported charges levelled by the People's War emissary, Varavara Rao, that a case of outraging the modesty of woman was registered against him in Atmakur police station of Anantapur district in the wake of the Mudigubba incident.

A press note issued from the DGP office here on Saturday stated that Mr. Rao while making protestations about his innocence in the Mudigubba incident had mentioned that the police constable had filed a false complaint against him that he had outraged the modesty of a woman and that the police were implicating him in the case.

The release said it was "utter falsehood" on the part of Mr. Rao because no such case was booked against in the Mudigubba incident. He was trying to mislead public by indulging in false and malicious writing against the police.
