PW agency bandh peaceful

By Our Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM, SEPT. 25. While the Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, spent about three hours in the city, the call for a bandh by the People's War (PW) naxalites passed off peacefully in the agency area on Saturday.

According to reports received here, shops were closed and buses were not operated to the remote villages.

The PW organised a well-attended meeting near Darakonda during the day. Vehicular traffic on both sides of the village was stopped for three to four hours while the meeting was in progress.

At another place, Chapagedda, tree branches were cut and placed on the road to block traffic. There was not much movement on the road even after the blockade was removed.
