THALASSERY, SEPT. 25. Palakkad beat Wayanad by 53 runs in the State under-17 inter-district cricket championship here on Saturday. The match between host Kannur and Malappuram was abandoned because of bad weather.

The scores: Palakkad 177 for six in 35 overs (Krishnadas 65) bt Wayanad 124 for six in 35 overs (Ramesh four for 39).
