Cloudy sky

A cloudy sky is the forecast for Sunday. The City on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 30.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.5 degrees Celsius. The relative humidity was 68 per cent, and a trace of rainfall was recorded.

SBH branch

inaugurated

The fully renovated and air-conditioned premises of the Municipal Corporation (Tank Bund) branch of the State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) was inaugurated by the Mayor of Hyderabad, Teegala Krishna Reddy, in the presence of the bank's Managing Director, Amitabha Guha, here on Saturday. A press release said the branch, which opened in 1984, had grown "tremendously."

NFC mourns

Ramanna

Officers and staff of the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) on Saturday condoled the death of Raja Ramanna, former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission, at a meeting here.

The Chairman and Chief Executive, R. Kalidas, expressed deep sorrow over the death, saying the country had lost one of its most distinguished scientists.

Shop employees' plea

The Andhra Pradesh Shop Employees' Federation has appealed to the Government to implement the paid holiday on October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) "in letter and spirit" to ensure benefits to employees of shops and establishments. The General Secretary, D. Laxminarayana, in a statement said he had asked the department to arrange a "third eye" to ensure this.

Contest for

Toyota dealers

Dobro Toyota, dealers for Toyota in Hyderabad, are conducting an `In-dealer skill contest' for service advisors and technicians on September 26 at their dealership in Uppal. A press release said the contest would begin at 10 a.m. and include a written test on product knowledge and customer care skills for service advisors. For technicians, there would be a written test on technical knowledge and periodic maintenance and a practical test on unit repair and maintenance services.

Friendship tour

A 24-member Lion's Club delegation, led by Sunil Bantia, left for Sri Lanka on Friday on a three-day friendship tour. The delegation will study new methods of conducting awareness programmes and social service activities. Members include Surya Kumar, Kamal Kishore Bhutada, T. Ramesh, Mahesh Agarwal and Udaymore.

eSeva centres to be closed

All eSeva centres, RTC counters in eSeva centres and Parishkaram call centres will remain closed on Monday due to the Ganesh immersion, according to the Director, eSeva.

Exchange of soiled notes

The UCO Bank will open a counter at its branch in Koti on Sunday for the exchange of soiled and mutilated notes. The counter will be open from 10.30 a.m to 3 p.m, a release said.

Poor-feeding

The Press Club, Somajiguda, organised `Annadanam' programme on its premises here on Saturday as part of Ganesh Chavithi celebrations.

The Ganesh idol installed in the Press Club premises would be immersed on Monday.
