This Day That Age
Srimati Vijayalakshmi Pandit has been appointed High Commissioner for India in the United Kingdom, the Ministry of External Affairs announced in New Delhi on September 25. She is expected to assume charge in the middle of November. Mrs. Pandit, who is 54, was previously India's Ambassador in Moscow and also Washington. She has just relinquished her office as President of the U.N. General Assembly.
