PUNE, SEPT. 26. The Stewards of RWITC decided to cancel Sunday's races here due to the refusal of the jockeys to ride their respective mounts, on emotional grounds. Jockey Yogender Singh's accidental death on his mount Dilnawaz at Saturday's races was the main cause of their refusal. Mr. Pesi Shroff, vice-president of the Jockeys Association told The Hindu that "All the boys who had gone to the cremation ground to pay their last respects to a colleague (Yogender Singh) were not in a proper state of mind to ride at today's races. They had requested to the Stewards to cancel the day's races or postpone it to some other day. But the Stewards refused to grant their wish and hence they took this step. According to an announcement, The Idar Gold Trophy will be included in the programme of Friday's races framed for October 1 and fresh declarations will be taken for this race.
